Well there must be someone out there without one!!! SO how can you cook these amazing recipes without a Steam Oven. Well basically you make a steam oven out of your own oven by using a ‘bain maire’ or a dish of water in the bottom of the oven, and a cooler oven temperature than normal.
Steam point is 100 degrees Centigrade (around 212 F)…so using that as a guide, Place around 1 litre of water in a roasting dish, the food either on the rack above or actually in the water turning it into a ‘bath’! This will effectively result in a Steam Oven! You may need to experiment with temperatures according to the accuracy of your own oven, as all ovens are not made equal.
Please let me know how it all goes!
